Double Exposure Flag in Black and White

I tried my double exposure flag photo in black and white. Ellis had asked me what it looked like in black and white and I had no idea. Here it is larger.

What do y'all think? I like it well enough but I do think this particular photo is better in color than black and white. I guess it is because of the flag. I'm not sure. It does have an appeal this way too.

Here is the color version again for comparison and for those who didn't read the first article.

I need to go back one day and get a shot without the little flags and redo the whole thing. The next time I go put flowers on my dad's grave I will and I'll get his stone in the photo if possible. This was just a random shot and angle I liked.

Anyway, there is my experiment for the day.

Looks good because you don't see the green shift in the flag like the other one.

This is true.

I like it colored. Is there a way where you can get the other flags and headstones in black and white and then just eh big American flag in color? Might look better? or vice versa?

I prefer the color version.

Its good both ways. I think you just have to use the one that suits the use you want to make of it the best. i was a bit alarmed when you talked about a flag in black and white until I saw what you were up to.

I could try it. I'd have to do the photos separate again and then do the double exposure technique. I've never tried it.

LOL, didn't mean to alarm anyone.

They both look good but in this case, I prefer the colour photo, probably because the dates on the headstones are recent. If they had been older, the B&W might look more "authentic".

Yeah, it is a fairly new cemetery. We buried my dad there in 2008 and they had just opened it not long before.

It was the colour shift in the flags that I thought might look better...but on balance perhaps the colour one is best...

Yeah, I still need to try the flag in color and the other black and white. If I can figure out how.
