I wish my faithful friend was alive

I have seen many dogs in my life. I try to feed as many dogs and animals that I can. I had witnessed the death of my pet dog, Hope and I felt very helpless. I have penned down my emotions here, I hope I feel lighter.

Your barks have made me mad and your licks have irritated me,

Yet as you lay quietly on the floor, I want you to move

I want to see the twinkle in your eye

I want to witness my shoes been been torn by you

I will not shout at you in words you scarcely understand

I want to go to the beach with you

See you running with other dogs

but I can't see you here laying helpless

I do not want to wait for the moment your body stops breathing

I don't want to see your eyes shut forever

I will not share any more tearful secrets with you

But I don't want to lose you, Hope.

I am sorry you lost your dog. They live such shorter lives than us and it is always painful to lose a tried and trusted friend.

I have outlived about six good dogs in my life. It's a shame they don't live longer.

It's always hard to say goodbye to them.

Our love for a pet can equal that of our love for our family members, and their deaths can leave a hole just as big. I'm sorry for your loss.
