An update on my promotion experiment
So it has been a little over a week now since I started the paid version of socialoomph and started monitoring my statistics more closely. I thought this was a good time to give you all an update, actually that is a lie I thought a week was a good time but I have been busy over the last few days and just haven't gotten around to it.
According to my socialoomph account I am averaging between 300 and 400 clicks a day, remember these clicks are not all going to count as a valid view and not all of them come here (most do though). My persona paper articles have received just short of 3000 clicks, again not all legitimate views, in fact most of them clearly are invalid as my coins are not up that much by a long shot.
My statistics from here show that in the same timeframe I have earned 428 coins which has translated into 42 cents, at 2 coins per view and just for the purposes of this experiment lets just count all these clicks and exclude the fact that some of them will be internal, that works out at 214 views.
I am not including info from the other site here, partly because this is persona paper and I would like to keep it about this site and partly because I cashed out there the other day and my stats reset, of course I had stupidly not noted them down before hand so I have no way to add them up. I will say I am noticing a bigger difference in earnings there than I am here.
Now these numbers are not life changing but there are a few things to bear in mind, firstly this is only week (and a bit) one, things will likely improve over time. Secondly I have not written very much in that time, thirdly and most importantly I have been tweeting the same 36 tweets over and over again. None of these tweets are for my new articles because I am adding those to a separate queue, the idea being to rotate the queues every few days once there are enough tweets in each queue. Even if each of these links is clicked 100 times by the same person, it will only count as one view.
The most important thing is that I am starting to get retweets and mentions, I will write a post about the importance of these separately so as not to confuse this post, but the short version is that my tweets are being shown to more people and this is a good thing.
So for this week what I need to do is write more and try and build up that second queue so that I can start tweeting those. Luckily I have a load of old helium articles that should be deindexed by now, so I can start posting those.

I appreciate this information. I've been working my JustUnfollow, but as of yet have not set up Socialoomph. Your progress and information here is the motivation I need to move forward. Wishing you the best of success.

It's a good idea to do the just unfollow stuff first. That's what I did, then you can just concentrate on building your twitter up and just go to justunfollow for maintenance so to speak. I just need to get the motivation to post some of those old helium articles, they used to generate a decent amount of traffic (some of them anyway) so I am hoping they will do the same here.

Those are interesting results. I've been to busy to check my Bitly stats, and that's where my stats are for the most part, except on Pinterest.

You have a lot on your plate just now, concentrate on you for the time being. of course pop in and say hi when you can, but your health is by far the most important thing.
