Love Finding New Writing Sites

When writing is your job, it's a smart idea to always be on the lookout for new writing venues. If I didn't do this, I would still only be contributing to Hub Pages and writing for pennies at Fiverr.

Instead, I always look for new writing sites. And I find that revenue-share sites tend to have the best suggestions. People write about the various sites they contribute to, and I always like to check them out.

I also found some sites that have private clients with assignments needing to be filled. Those are, by far, the highest earnings for the shortest amount of work. But the work is sporadic, and I can go days or even a week without getting a new assignment. Revenue-share sites are a great way to fill in the gaps and keep the earnings flowing.

Persona Paper recently gave me a new site to contribute to, and I am really loving it. It has a Facebook feeling to it because it's so social, but there are unlimited writing opportunities over there, which is uncommon on many of these sites.

But, I can't bring myself to leave PP for it. While the earnings here are low, I have found some amazing writers on this site, and I find myself looking forward to their next posts. So, while I may spend time over there, I will always be around on this site. Gotta meet that FOPP challenge this month!

Happy writing, everyone!

sconstantino Great post, but let me ask you this: As a writer, wouldn't you just focus on a couple of sites as opposed to devote time trying several sites? Nothing wrong with testing, but I find that focusing on a fewer number of sites is more effective? What do you think?

PS. I don't consider myself a writer, and in fact I am just learning and this type of communities are great for me to learn from others and improving my writing.

Relieved to learn you are enjoying Persona Paper enough to stick it out here. We'd miss you if you left. I'm doing my best to stick to the FOPP challenge, too. Onward and upward!

Please stay. I'm hoping I can stay active. But I'll post about that. My usual advise about writing sites is to establish a small body of work at each, enough to meet the minimum to post without moderation or meet some other important goal. Then I wait and see which sites are worth my time.

I'll admit, my focus the last couple of weeks has been on my health, my family, and my own site - putting PP on the back burner (at least writing wise). But I love it here, too. There are those communities you hang with not so much for the money as for the sense of belonging. And who knows where we'll be down the road when things improve financially here? :) WooHOO :)

The current pay rate here in Persona Paper is low compared to other sites. However, you can really praise the level of writing here in the site. The quality is top notch!
