So Sick of Bubblews

I love writing. It has been the most rewarding career I've had so far, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I like to put 100% of my effort into every piece I write.

And, because I put forward this effort, I expect the sites I write for to do the same.

Once again, Bubblews is late on sending me my redemption. And I feel like emailing them about it will be a waste of time. Why can't they just get it together, and pay their writers? And get rid of the stupid spammers?!

I'm done. Even though I know it will probably be a waste of time, I will send an email to request my payment (which they should be paying me anyway). Once I receive my payment, I'm deleting everything. All my posts over there will be taken down, and Bubblews can say goodbye to another regular, rule-abiding contributor.

I'm so tired of the scam.

It's not worth it to spend my time somewhere that may or may not pay me, and I have no control over it.

Okay. Rant over. Thanks for listening (or reading). :)

I don't blame you but having Blubblews in the title ensures you plenty of views here...

You are not alone. It would be ridiculous that after 30 days of waiting for my payment, I need to write to them and remind them that I have a pending payment. I didn't like that system from the beginning but the only reason I stayed is because they promised a big change, a surprise. After the alleged surprise nothing changed for better, only for worse. I gave up hope on Bubblews and I am also deleting everything there.

It's hard to find the motivation to write there when your not sure if they will pay or not. And $50 is a long way to see if it will work.I have an account and simply use it for back-links here and there.

It is a shame from both a business standpoint and a quality standpoint that late or missing payments are resulting in quality writers going elsewhere from there, but I can understand it. Certainly all of those good writers can find a home and a refreshingly new experience here.

If you delete everything, they will charge you for everything they have paid you. Just walk away.

I don't blame you. Apparently lack of payment is a huge problem right now.

Many got their payments. Maybe their problem is understaffing. There are so many members following up payments and there are only 10 staff doing all the work. They should hire additional staff and reform the payment system.

sconstantino It's a shame they have a bad execution of a good idea. They do not listen nor they communicate with the users and handle everything via "surprises". Hope you get your payment soon.

One of my "bubbling buddies" wrote bubbles stating he got paid for a redemption over the weekend, but he noticed that PayPal charged him a fee. After investigating on his PayPal account he discovered that his payment from Bubbleooze had been sent through on a credit card, and Bubble-youse opted to let him pay the credit card fee.

I can think of two reasons for them to pay a redemption to someone with a credit card. One (a very plausible reason): the ability to recover money should the payment prove fraudulent. That's a strong possibility at Bubble-ewws, given the proliferation of plagiarism and spam. The other (also a very possible reason, and very frightening): they don't have enough money from ad generation on the site to cover what they owe their writers.

As I told someone else, the first thing they teach you in Navy boot camp is how to jump off a sinking ship. I think you're wise to be here.

It's beginning to get old to me again. I thought they were getting it together. But now, they're late again for me too.

Hope you feel better after this rant. I have one missing redemption from June 30. i have emailed them but I have nothing to show except their generic auto-responses which are of no help at all. I have a payment due Sept. 6 and although I'm hoping for the best that i get paid, I've also prepared for the worst. I'll decide what to do then.

It's really hard to stay on a site that pays sporadically. The payout amount of $50 is hard to reach for some and then to wait another 30 days to see if you even get paid is equally hard. I hope you get paid and as long as you are paid, I advise you to just stick around until the day that they stop paying you. Just make sure you have enough posts before you make each of your redemption.

I wonder if they will ever take the hint that lots of people are fed up with their antics of sporadic payments?

AliCanary wrote on September 3, 2014, 9:21 AM

Oh, yeah. I feel you on this one, and so do a lot of other people, obviously.

AliCanary wrote on September 3, 2014, 9:24 AM

No, he is right to delete his work. If he leaves it up, they will still make revenue on it. Even though the bank goes negative when you delete, it's not like they can POSSIBLY collect on that. It's not money you owe in any way. If he deletes his work there, he can re-publish it here or elsewhere with no fear of duplicate content issues.

I'm having no trouble getting paid there right now. It's still a pain to wait 30 days to get the payment once requested, but they are catching up on payments and I'm hoping once that's handled we'll see at least some reduction in the wait times.

By the way, today they added a captcha for all comments until such time as spam is under control. And the CTO is promising to roll out several other spam fighting measures in the near future. And they're expanding their staff!
