So You Think You Have A Bad Day?

Think about it...

Somewhere out there in another part of the world, some unlucky soul is having a worst day than you. So instead of sulking and feeling sorry for yourself, you best be writing down the simple pleasures of life that you enjoy and make you happy. After all, didn't they say that gratitude and positive thoughts and long life go hand in hand. Writing down a gratitude list at the start of the day is liberating. Along with saying a prayer and doing my torchers (will talk about this in another post) , I find that writing what I have to be thankful for sets me in the right perspective for the day. Make no mistake about it, I update my daily gratitude list as my day goes along.

Try it out. Thank me later.

Keeping perspective is important and helps to keep those "sorry for myself" thoughts at bay.

That is good advice.

The "you shouldn't feel bad because someone somewhere has it worse than you" argument is not one that I have ever agreed with. A person's bad day is not invalid because someone might have had a worse day. If it were then opposite would also be true. How dare someone say they have had a GOOD day, because somewhere out there somebody has had a much BETTER day. It sounds silly when you look at it that way, doesn't it?

Having the attitude of gratitude on a daily basis makes a lot of difference in how we look at life. I don't write it down in a journal, but just tell God and others thank you a lot.

A beautiful post even when things are looking dim. It's nice to recount all the things in life that make you happy and make life easier. I have a long list of things for which I am grateful. Stay well and best wishes!

What can't kill you can only make you stronger. Lots of love, your stalker.

One of my mantras in life, 'What does not and cannot kill me, only makes me stronger!'.

You and me are cut from the same cloth Toni!

Keeping things in perspective is an important survival skill. I personally haven't found gratitude lists and such to be a terribly helpful exercise. But then I don't think it's a particularly Pagan thing to do. We have a different way of dealing with life's challenges, I guess....
