Has the BUBBLE(w)S Finally Burst?

I normally refrain from much talk about that old place around here but this is HUGE news. So big in fact, that I'm here writing it (not writing it out in my Pages program first).
Have you heard?
Facebook has BANNED Bubblews! It's ALL over the Fakebook/FaceCrack place over there.
Crazy, right?
Along with a WHOLE lot of rumors.
Most of which are just plain ridiculous. Seriously.
- Facebook is threatened by Bubblews? Maybe because they (Facebook) want to spam us with the most ads where we spend a large portion of our day conversing with folks online.
- Facebook hates Bubblews? Maybe because Facebook isn't a living breathing entity and neither is Bubblews. If either of them were capable of emotion, hate wouldn't be the first one on the list (in my humble opinion...though I'm not sure greed is an emotion, either).
- Facebook is taking over the world and Bubblews is standing in the way? Maybe they are but I don't think Bubblews is that big yet. Who can touch the Zuck? At least in his mind. WE make the choice to feed his ego. Daily.
Bottom line?
Facebook has changed their algorithms again. Bubblews employs an incredible amount of ads upon their site. Too spammy for Facebook, perhaps? Without being in the thick of it, we can't know the true story. Perpetuating rumors seems kind of silly to me.
On the other hand, I KNOW a LOT of folks who are affected by this. That sucks too. Good people who are simply trying to earn their keep by writing good content and then share it with their friends and family. This latest has put quite a wrench in that and it's just no good.
Has the Bubblews Bubble FINALLY burst?
Time will tell, regarding the Bubblews/Facebook relationship. Arvind - CEO of Bubblews - has come out with a statement that they (Bubblews) are working to get to the bottom of this debacle. Let's just see how it plays out...
~ Cheers

HUGEST understatement I've heard all year: "I don't always believe what Arvind say..."
YA THINK? lol. He may not know what's going on but I'm wondering if he's finally feeling a little like some of the rest of us. Spanked by a big-gun??? Hmmm...
Shadi wrote on August 31, 2014, 8:13 AM
We will have to wait and sea if their appeal will be successful. I agree with you that the above mentioned rumors are ridiculous.
SandraLynn wrote on August 31, 2014, 8:19 AM
Yes, let's just see how successful that appeal is. I can't help thinking about KARMA... Hmmm... :(
Susie wrote on August 31, 2014, 9:50 AM
I think Bubblews will still be here tomorrow, etc.
Scorpie wrote on August 31, 2014, 9:52 AM
—Facecrook moderators are tired of seeing the name bubbleooze dominating their keyword metrics.
SandraLynn wrote on August 31, 2014, 10:02 AM
I have no doubt. They aren't done. But they did just get a spankin' ;)
SandraLynn wrote on August 31, 2014, 10:03 AM
That's possible. Spammy pages adding to the mix and lots of scammers can't have helped...
Scorpie wrote on August 31, 2014, 10:11 AM
Lets have breakfast. You're buying. I'll have blueberry waffles with Vermont maple syrup and breakfast sausage.
SandraLynn wrote on August 31, 2014, 11:36 AM
Why do I have to buy? Though I am hungry. Okay. Let's go :) Wait. I have to read something first...something about a $300 something or other...
SandraLynn wrote on August 31, 2014, 11:37 AM
Ah yes. There's that. Speculation, on top of all the conspiracies etc. Though this is different. This is something beyond what they could have imagined...
Scorpie wrote on August 31, 2014, 11:56 AM
I can't believe it's noon and I haven't eaten yet. :(
poddys wrote on August 31, 2014, 1:07 PM
I wonder if it's all the spamming of posts from there on Facebook that has caused this? Seen it happen to Squidoo and other sites on Digg, Stumbleupon etc.
At least Facebook are stepping up on spam. Now if they can only do something about all the fake accounts that tag people with images of fake Raybans and lead them to Chinese owned web sites...
poddys wrote on August 31, 2014, 1:37 PM
Here's a good one....

On their Latest Posts page, I found 2 posts right next to each other, both with the same title. Not only that, both had the identical same content. Only 1 thing was different - 2 authors.
I smell spam......
Just had a quick browse on the Latest Posts page and at least 50% are obviously junk or plagiarised.
Makes me feel good to be here

I can believe that Bubble Ooze is stealing some audience from Facebook. I and many of my online friends hardly go to Facebook at all anymore except to talk in our groups for various writing sites. It may be that this was like a pesky mosquito to Facebook before , you know, ignore it and it will go away. It didn't go away but got bigger. Many people would rather share in the take from advertising than to have their real friends' posts hidden by ads they have no financial incentive to view. We don't have to pay to use Bubble Ooze, either, but we do get paid well for our participation, which included seeing the ads. Facebook doesn't want to share.

I think it's likely that it's all the spam and scam content on Bubblews, plus people blasting their links ad nauseam to every social network again and again instead of being smart about it. Combine the two, and it's a good way to get banned. It's funny that there's a big hoopla now that FaceBook is banning them, but people hardly blinked when Squidoo, Delicious and StumbleUpon banned them. That was a while back too.

Ooer...the plot thickens...

Bubble ooze posts are back in Facebook. All is well so far. LOL at all the comments that came out when this incident first happened.

Had the ban stayed, I probably would have lost out on a few cents per post. I don't get much traffic via Facebook, and the average non-spam casual bubbler probably doesn't either. The major non-spam earners would have been hit hard, but I'm not sure how many of those remain. With it's massive amount of internal views, the bulk of the legitimate Bubblews traffic probably would have held up just fine under a FB ban. It's the like groups that would have suffered.

I joined FB specifically to promote my work, then I promptly got addicted. My addiction didn't last long. I enjoyed catching up with friends I hadn't been in touch with in years, but then I joined Bubblews and got addicted to the interaction of social blogging. That was so much more fun, AND I got paid for carrying on conversations with the new friends I was making. This was a year ago, when there were so many good people on Bubblews. I made so many new friends with similar interests that I had so much more in common with than my FB friends. Writing is my passion, and it's so much easier to relate to people who know how it feels to need to write.
The more I learn about FB, the more leery I am of it. I've become very distrustful of them and their invasive tactics. I won't sign into another website via FB. I won't do surveys which ask to view my likes, friends list, etc. I've become very careful about what pages I like. If it weren't for keeping up with what my friends post and using FB for promotion, I wouldn't keep my account.

It's official now. The ban had been lifted. Arvind wrote a post about the ban from Facebook and it seems perhaps he must have had some conferencing with Facebook admin to get the ban lifted. They're back in Facebook good graces. Don't know how but it's good news for them, I suppose.

I don't think is make sense when people say facebook is worry about bubblews because i believe the distance between the two site is still far. Bubblews still have a long way to go to reach FB

I ignore FB as much as possible. Its whole premise is just sort of alien to my world view.
WordChazer wrote on September 9, 2014, 2:40 PM
Bubblews is back on FartBlot now. I think it was because some of the groups were turning into spamalicious like farm exchange chain groups. Also, as you say, the ads. We have all noticed there are fewer ads these days (regrettably also MOAR spammers in the last few days too...good thing I like troll baiting!)
SandraLynn wrote on September 10, 2014, 8:18 AM
LOL. I rather enjoy messing with some, myself. Though they rarely get it, makes for a good giggle ;) And yes, I know. The ban (that had so many so panicked, barely lasted a day ;) )
WordChazer wrote on September 10, 2014, 1:00 PM
That's about the size of the cow.
However, I still want to be able to write both there and here, for differing reasons.
WordChazer wrote on September 10, 2014, 1:03 PM
Only got caught once by StumbleUpon banning their posts, and I was looking for an excuse to leave that sleaze of a site anyway. They kept telling me I was putting out too many of my own links and not enough of everyone else's. So how am I supposed to publicise my work if I can't advertise it on a backlinks site, pray? No one was reading my articles anyway, why should I read theirs?
MarshaMusselman wrote on September 12, 2014, 11:55 PM
I've heard that i's been cleared up already, but then again I don't worry about Facebook none to much.
Pogonotomy wrote on September 16, 2014, 1:15 PM
Hm wow, I hadn't heard of this issue. It's a little silly to me, to be honest. Oh well. I'm still a member of Bubblews and Facebook separately. :p

This is not the first time though. I have seen Bubblews pages and groups banned there before, so we will see what happens next...
