I Have Just Joined the Bubblews Strike Movement

I just wrote a Bubblews post stating that I won't write another post there until I receive my late payment. It's only two days, but they need to get their act under control. Hillbilly wrote a post about going on strike, if he didn't receive his late payment, I think that's a great idea.

Bubblews truly takes their writers for granted and seems to think that we will write there out of love or necessity. They need to learn that for those of us that are there for the money (and then community), the money is a big first. Many of us also have other options.

So my new strategy is that they will lose daily content if they don't pay promptly. I have seen many comments scattered around that people are not writing new posts or have cut back. Eventually Bubblews will understand they need their writers producing content to continue to pay their San Francisco rent.

I'm wondering if my strike post will be deleted.

UPDATE I received my payment in full on 8/29 so I started posting again.

I and some others went on strike for a few weeks over the ads they were showing that were close to porn right above the comment box. We said we didn't want our work anywhere near them and wouldn't write until they were gone. They did finally get removed. I don't really know how concerned they are about retaining good writers. Because of their pay rate, they know they can always get more. But I'm beginning to wonder how much longer they can keep paying those rates.

Nelda I have also a redemption that should have been paid on the 27th and it is still not paid. I think we should invite the other Bubblers to stop writing and interacting until ALL our redemptions are honored.

vserrao1 wrote on August 28, 2014, 1:48 PM

Bubblews just paid me. I am happy with them. I love Bubblews.

NeldaHoxie wrote on August 28, 2014, 1:57 PM

Arvind and Jason have some high powered investors and advertisers to keep happy. They can't be happy with what I'm seeing on the front page. Bubblews now has San Fancisco rent to pay.

I know at least 9 other Bubblers who are no longer posting. They are 10 a day people who write well. I think many, many solid Bubblers are fed up with late payments. Yes it is hurting them.

The number of featured posts has plumeted today. There are only so many people who wrote online. The people who are stepping in aren't writing very well.

NeldaHoxie wrote on August 28, 2014, 1:58 PM

Hillbilly inspired me to go on strike. If his payment doesn't arrive tomorrow he's striking. Many Bubblers are too afraid to speak publicly. As their redemptions fail, that fear may lesson.

NeldaHoxie wrote on August 28, 2014, 1:59 PM

A good pay rate is meaningless, if they don't pay.

NeldaHoxie wrote on August 28, 2014, 2:07 PM

Arvind just commented on my post that they are "a Little" behind, and I WILL get paid. We'll see how long it takes. I told him I would start writing again after I was paid

Feisty56 wrote on August 28, 2014, 2:08 PM

I respect your right to make this decision and that of others who do the same.

Kasman wrote on August 28, 2014, 2:35 PM

I have changed the way I write on Bubblews. I used to put some effort into my posts with research and photos but now I write just enough to be acceptable. Why? Because I won't be taken for a fool! I have just one missing payment (from July 1st) which is now 30 days overdue. I have a recently claimed payment due no later then September 14 and if that isn't paid then I'm gone from Bubble Ooze and if the missing payment doesn't turn up before the end of September then ditto. If Bubblews don't get their act together and pay those writers who DO follow the rules then all they will be left with are spammers with meaningless 'what I had for breakfast posts'.

NeldaHoxie wrote on August 28, 2014, 2:47 PM

BubblewsMemberSupport just contacted me and asked for the date of redemption, amount and paypal address He said they would look into it ASAP. I'm still not writing until I see the money in my account.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on August 28, 2014, 7:06 PM

I have slowed down a lot, but I can't afford to stop completely. All the changes hit me hard, and it's impossible now to do the kind of posting that I did two months ago. Now, instead of concentrating on cleaning up all the messes they have made, they are introducing YouTube videos. My first thought was not about how useful that would be, it was how many new problems is this going to cause?

NeldaHoxie wrote on August 28, 2014, 7:10 PM

They just don't get it. Getting caught up on payments and staying caught up is much more important than bells and whistles Of course we don't know what their investorswant.

bestwriter wrote on August 28, 2014, 7:26 PM

There will soon be an ocean of strikers and sense will then prevail. I too am planning on doing that.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on August 28, 2014, 7:41 PM

I'm sure their investors and advertisers don't want the hundreds or thousands of broken, gutted posts the "upgrade" left in its wake.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on August 28, 2014, 7:43 PM

Do you have a direct email address for redemption issues? All I get from the contact form is automated replies. They say to attach a screenshot, but there is no way to attach a screenshot.

nbaquero wrote on August 29, 2014, 12:09 AM

NeldaHoxie I have not been affected by this issue, but I feel many of my most respected fellow Bubblers are, and that is why I do everything I can to spread the word about this problem.

LeaPea2417 wrote on August 29, 2014, 12:19 AM

I am taking a break right now since I have written 71 articles and only have 14 dollars. I think the pay rate has gone down since the site was redone. I am really wondering if and when I ever hit 50 dollars , if I will get paid.

facheso wrote on August 29, 2014, 3:27 AM

My two redemption too are pending so I don.t know when i am receiving them

allen0187 wrote on August 29, 2014, 7:00 AM

I have an unpaid redemption from June 30 and I've stopped writing there. I only did write to explain my side about my posts hitting the front page and my connections' notification list when I updated these. This was before the fix.
I've emailed the site but all I have to show are generic canned auto-responses. Whoppeee!

LoudMan wrote on August 29, 2014, 10:16 AM

I'm still a bit salty - and hurt deeply - about my pictures of my children and some of my travels gone missing. Mostly, the pictures of my children. But I deny anyone the pleasure of my pain.

Shadi wrote on August 29, 2014, 10:18 AM

I thought I was alone. I will not sign into bubblews again unless they fix their payment and communication system and of course until I receive my pending payment.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on August 29, 2014, 12:32 PM

I went days with my stomach all twisted up in knots. Then after working my fingers off trying to salvage (because you can't "fix" the damage) my posts, I got enough of the worst ones edited to the point that I wasn't as anxious about redeeming. I slacked off on editing for a day or two to take a breather, and then they hit me with disabling editing. I've still got tons of ruined posts (hopefully with at least 400 characters now), and I can't do anything about it.

A picture may be worth 1000 words, but 1000 words can't replace a picture.

Bubblews pays. It may take them a long time to pay but they do pay. They are understaffed but they keep on getting new members. If you strike, you are only hurting yourself. Bubblews will not care if you strike. Just keep posting for Bubblews.

NeldaHoxie wrote on August 29, 2014, 11:21 PM

Well Arvind came to my strike post and commented twice to reassure me I would be paid and then had a staff member contact me. I was paid the next day. so it seems it didn't hurt me. I don't work if I'm not being paid. Bubblews has massive backers, they can hire more staff and pay people in a timely fashion. However if people don't demand it and keep writing, why should they.

LadyDuck wrote on August 31, 2014, 11:04 AM

I also received my payment on August 29, 2 days later on the announced day. I know that it's "only" 2 days, but it's 2 days + 30 + 4 more to have the amount credited. We were paid in 24 hours when I joined, than they switched to 72, hours and they were never on time. If the number of users grows, they need more staff.

LadyDuck wrote on August 31, 2014, 11:07 AM

I had two payments, one from June 28 and the other from July 4 that were paid on August 13! This after I contacted personally Briggs to have this issue settled.

CarolynNoblett wrote on September 14, 2014, 6:56 PM

I don't really think they are concerned at all about having really good writers. It's a social site and doesn't really claim to be anything more. If I want to post a real article I will either place it on my personal Blog, maybe here I'm not sure yet, or somewhere that is built for articles. Bubblews is just another form of Facebook that pays it's users and that is it. Well, they are supposed to pay anyway. I have always been paid...so far.

Glenn wrote on November 22, 2014, 1:57 PM

I'm no longer posting articles on Bubblews either. But it's not because I'm waiting for my last payment which is in pending mode. I have successfully received all prior payments so I expect this one to come through too. So why am I no longer writing there? I was discouraged when they suddenly added back all the lost text on all posts that were chopped off when they introduced the new platform in July. I, as many others, have already added that text back in a frantic rush to edit all the posts that were cut off. And what did they do? They removed the ability to edit old posts because they thought that people were spamming the homepage. So now that they added the text back, all our old posts are a mess and we can't even edit them to fix them. That's why I'm no longer writing on Bubblews. If they fix their platform, I may continue. But I have already lost all hope.

HappyLady wrote on December 11, 2014, 9:22 AM

I think this is a ridiculous attitude. Many, including myself have been paid to date and I am not going to go on strike over my single late payment. Bubblews is fine and fun and still a better place earning wise than many. I don't think any one striking would be missed anyway becausae there will always be new users joining. If you don't like it use other places and come back if you see conditions are better, complain to the powers that be. I have been treated and paid far worse on places like Trions, Wikkinut, and other such places.
