Introduction for LindaJM

Hi there! I'm Linda Jo Martin, also known as the Book Lady on YouTube. I'm a writer living in Northern Idaho near Lake Coeur d'Alene. I've been earning my living as a writer (mostly via the internet) since 2008.

I've published only one of my novels so far: "River Girl" - a story about a young girl who moved from the San Francisco Bay area to the Klamath River Valley around 1920. The book is intended for girls ages eight through fifteen, though most of the reviews I've seen are from adults who enjoyed the book.

My hobbies include my YouTube channel, reading, and bike riding. I don't own a car so my main mode of transportation is walking; fortunately, I enjoy it.

My favorite foods are all vegetarian, such as rice pasta al pesto or tofu with vegetables. I avoid sugar most of the time. I tend to go on strict diets every now and then, such as the lemonade diet (Master Cleanser) and the candida diet which lasts a minimum of three months.

I'm 62 this year and health maintenance is important to me, especially since I need to be able to keep walking. Life is fun for me. I struggled many years with inconsistent relationships, raising children as a single mother, and poverty - but now my children are all adults and I live in a very nice apartment built for seniors 55+.

I've been in Idaho only a year but have found new friends who I trust and value. I've traveled around the United States and found that people in Idaho are among the friendliest in the nation. I'm glad I retired to this state.

Welcome, Linda! It sounds like you've had an interesting life and congrats on publishing a book. Persona is a great place, I know you'll like it here.

Thanks, LynnWrites... the book I'm holding in the photo isn't the one I wrote... I was holding that book for a video book review. The book I wrote (that is published) is River Girl... a novel for girls ages 8 to 15. As for my life being interesting... well, isn't there an old Chinese curse that says, "May you live in interesting times?" It means... "May you experience much difficulty in life." Okay, that fits!! But my life is happier now... I moved to Idaho last year and became a Christian. 2013 was a good year for me. Life is better now. I don't know about being more interesting, but I'll probably find something to write about anyhow.

I'll have to look up your book. It sounds like the move to Idaho has been a good one. I wish you many happy, happy, moments in the years to come!

Thanks so much Abby... I'm very much looking forward to posting articles here at Persona Paper. Right now, however, I have a doctor's appointment - so I guess the articles will have to wait.

Never ever been to Idaho but never heard of the place having a bad reputation so I'll take your word for it on the friendly folks there. I'm on YouTube as well and will surely subscribe to your channel there and here. Nice to meet cha on PP :)

It's a pleasure to meet you, Linda Jo. I was known as "the book lady" when I worked in a public library. I miss the library world sometimes, but I'm having fun with my web writing!
