Three Day Weekend

Another is upon me. Had one last week and I'll have another this week. Only difference though, my three day weekend is in the middle of the week.

Last July, I came to work on two holidays so I earned for myself two extra days-off. Last week I took my extra day-off last Wednesday. I'll do the same this week. My days-off are Thursday and Friday. Hence, I consider these days my weekends. It isn't the usual Saturday and Sunday that everyone is used to but it has its benefits. Plus, I've gotten accustomed to working on the actual weekends, so no problem there.

Anyway, during my last three day weekend, I took a . I took the time to do some relaxing and writing. I spent the first day shuffling from one gym to another trying to get lots of , , and sessions. The rest of the day I spent at the spa getting a massage. The next two days were devoted to reading, writing, and watching movies. I still spent my mornings at the gym but I was out before lunch and after enjoying what the buffet has to offer, I went up to my room to catch up on my books, journal, and movies. It was the most satisfying three days for me! I was away from my usual grind and afterwards I feel recharged and rejuvenated.

Now, I'm thinking of what to do and where to go in my next three day weekend. No definite plans yet but I have some options.

Do you usually have three day weekends? What do you usually do? What activities do you partake in?

Feel free to chime in friends.

I don't get them often, but with my job I can also work from home now and again. It sounds like you had a great time on yours!

This has been August Bank Holiday here in the UK, and although the weather wasn't bad on Saturday and Sunday, we woke up to rain this morning and it only stopped about 6pm. Good job we worked on the garden yesterday.

Sounds like you made good use of your days off.

Lucky you! It was an English Bank Holiday - here in Scotland it was business as usual. At least today's weather where I am was bright and sunny all day.

I'd say you made great use of your three day weekend and fully expect you will do so with the one ahead of you. When I had three day weekends, it seemed like the first two days were for housework and laundry, then on the third day I could relax.

That would be a great time to stay at a local hotel and treat yourself to someone else doing the cleaning and bed-making and cooking. Rates will be cheaper because you're staying during the week.
