Which Version do You Prefer?

This is a shot of a building in Chattanooga, Tennessee that I took the other week when walking around on a photo safari with my mom and brother. The first picture is the color version. I like it pretty well. I like the sky against the colors of the flag and the the brickwork on the building. I also like the architecture of the building itself. That is what caught my eye first.

Here is the black and white version of the same shot.

I like this version as well because I am really partial to black and white photography. I think it makes details stand out better and I love the contrast.

Which version do you like best and why?

They are both good photos, but I prefer the black and white photograph.

Agree with SLGarcia , both are good photos. I have to go with the colored one. The brick work and the flag in that blue back ground is simply awe inspiring.

The black and white pic shows the detail off better than in the colour one..

well I prefer the grey-scale one...but both are good

I would say that I like both, The black and white does stand out a little more on details, and I just like black and white photos. However I do like to see the flag in color. What about black and white but put the color back into the flag? Not sure what that would end up looking like but if it was me I would at least try it.

I like both, but prefer that black and white. Chattanooga has a lot of old history and the black and white will depict that.

I like them both very much, but I think I prefer the color one - the color of the sky and the brick are just beautiful.

I really like them both, but the B & W really shows off the detailed architecture in the building just a bit more. I am partial to B & W photography and this turned out awesome!

Black and White actually brings out more of the finer details that you can't see because of the copper coloring in the other photo. I like both for different reasons, but as far as artistic goes, it would have to be the B&W .

I could try that as my next selective coloring project and see what it looks like. I will try to remember and post it when I'm done.

Yep, I agree. I'm a sucker for black and white though. I've had lots of fun doing almost all black and white this month.

I thought some people might like the color version of this one and I was right, although it seems black and white is still winning.

I do love the detail and color of this particular brick.

I like them both. I think they both look really neat.

I like the original more, I guess I'm more inclined towards colored photos

I like them both. I do think the red, white and blue needs to be red, white and blue, but I also see that the black and white shows more detail.

I like the color version. Photos should look like the real world, and my real world is full-color.

Yeah, I found that I liked most of my shots from Chattanooga better in Black and White.
