Pillboxes Are Great for those Taking Lots of Medicines
I did not think I would need to buy a pillbox . But after I had my general check up, I was taking 6 different medicines . Boy it is expensive. I made a list of my medicines and the time to take them. Then I would carry a small plastic box with handles down to the tables and go thru all the medicines looking for the right one.
My daughter bought me this one in the picture. I was happy but I also had her buy the single set too. I had to take 2 medicines before breakfast, then 3 after breakfast, and 3 at dinner. 2 are the same but there is 1 different for breakfast and 1 different for dinner. Since I also take vitamins : Vit. C to help strengthen the immune system because it is rainy season, Calcium for my bones and a Vit. B complex with Vit. E for the nerves and antioxidant . So as not to burden the morning and evening I take them during lunch. This pillbox was good because I can prepare my medicine good for 1 week and keep them wrapped. The problem was every time I would need some small scissors to open the medicine and it leaves a mess.
Then I was cleaning out my cabinet and saw this pillbox, one my brother gave me long ago that I hid because I said I didn't need it. I was wrong. It has 4 spaces but only big enough for the pills without wrapper . So I asked around if it was ok to put them together without wrapper. Some friends who are also nurses abroad said it was what they do in hospitals and home care but only for 1 week. So now I am using this (next picture) and the 4th space for bedtime is where I put the before breakfast pills. This is also nice because you can remove 1 strip of 1 day medicines if you are going out.
This is good so at least you will know how much medicine you have left and have time to buy. I also tell my helper and daughters what medicines I take.
