On the Farm

I took this photo last weekend while my husband and I were on the way to Knoxville, Tennessee. My husband pulled off the side of the road for me to get the shot.

I love the look of this little farm. The red is nice and the silo or whatever it is just adds something extra to the photo. I love old farms. I'm always happy when I find one that I can actually get a photo of. A lot of the ones I see are on private property or too far off the road to get a shot of.

Here is the photo. What do y'all think?

I think it almost looks like one of those old paintings. I don't know who painted them, but I've seen quite a few with colors like this. I like the shot anyway. I hope y'all do as well.

That is very nice. It is quaint pictures like that , that make me wish I owned and worked on a farm

I wouldn't go that far...lol. I don't know anything about working on a farm.

It does, and paintings. I'm really happy with it.

Great shot you got here. I particularly like how bright the colors are and how each one conpliment each other. The red for the farm house itself, the blue for the sky, and the green for the trees and the grass. The silo with its rustic look contrast against all the other colors and that adds another element to the photo.

This is a stunning photo! I love red barns. Many here are faded, but they still have a unique, rustic, beauty all their own.

I like it. It has depth and texture- almost 3D quality

This is a great shot -- very rustic and homey. Has me wondering whether this is an active farm or one that has seen it better days.

Makes a lovely photo. I am a farmgirl at heart born and raised so I love this farm you captured. Well done. The red just really sets it off.

Thank you. I'm glad you like it. I loved the look of it from the street and was hoping my shot turned out well.

I think the faded ones look pretty cool. I love old barns.

I think they may still use this one some. I'm not sure though.

Thanks. I am thinking this might be one I print on something to try and sell at a local art fair I'm going to try.

These are the sort of pics to bring out in the depths of winter...nice job..

AngelSharum wrote on August 21, 2014, 4:14 PM

Thanks. Yeah, it would bring back a little warmth in the cold days of winter.

It does almost look like an old painting. It would look even more so like one if you edited by muting the colors.

It's a beautiful shot with the vivid red buildings. We have a lot of farms here, but not so colorful. And no silos. Photographers here go for abandoned buildings.

I would photograph abandoned buildings too if I could get in any. :)
