Making Lemonade Today

The old saying goes that when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. So I've been making lemonade today. The lemons started coming yesterday when I spent hours in doctors' waiting rooms. Very little lemonade there, but I did read half a book on my Kindle. I got almost no work done on the transition work from Squidoo to HubPages, though. Since we rushed to the lab for a test for my husband after his doctor visit, only to find it had already closed, I had to take him this morning, since he still didn't feel up to driving.
The lab isn't that far away, and I intended to go in and wait with him. I had forgotten to bring my Kindle, but had in the car an ancient Reader's Digest in a box of things to donate. I intended to look at the jokes again and then leave the magazine there when we left. But it was very crowded. I didn't feel right about occupying a seat. So I thought I'd go to the car and listen to the radio. That's when I noticed there was a repetitive banging sound from a factory or workshop across the alley from the parking lot. I knew I'd be a basket case if I hung around. So I went back upstairs and told my husband I was going for a walk and to stay there until I got back. Then I took off.
I need to walk, so I decided that walking and getting some exercise would be my lemonade. I was going to need that lemonade, since the next stop would be Walmart to pick up Hubby's prescription, and, as I expected there did turn out to be a line. Fortunately, it wasn't a long one.
After that, we went to the house we aren't currently sleeping in, since we needed to get the mail and do some other things, like give the neighbor's cats more water and their usual treats. Hubby needed to do some banking by phone, and negotiating with the Realtor. Everything he needed to refer to is there, as is his favorite easy chair. I had brought food for lunch with us.
After giving Sarah water under her supervision, I went upstairs to finish the spreadsheet in Goggle docs that records the progress on what's happening with copying and editing my lenses. I can refer to it from both computers. I also picked up my Imgur password. I didn't even remember I had an account there, but it was hosting some of my Squidoo images I had inserted with code in the middle of some lenses. We had finished what we needed to do by about five, and came back here. I ate dinner and now I'm back to work on the lenses more.
I hope I won't get anymore lemons tossed at me tomorrow, but I already have one coming – an appointment with one of my least favorite doctors, an EENT doctor who will probably torture me. I will, however, resist with all my might some of those procedures.
Have you had to make any lemonade today?

Well, I had water with lemon and a tad of sugar. Does that count? It was free. The rest of the meal wasn't.

Some days if its now one thing its another. Lemons certainly come, and making lemonade is a good idea. The best of luck moving your lenses to hubpages. All good things come to an end, but endings sometimes make for spectacular beginnings!

That counts. Did you grow the lemons or get them as gifts?

More about the new beginnings later, and the great revelation.

My wife's car broke down today. I'm struggling to make lemonade out of that!

Ouch! That will take a lot of sugar (and cash) to sweeten.

No lemons so far...but the day isn't over yet...

Not yet barbrad but that is because I haven't gotten out of bed yet. Haven't gotten my land legs back yet from all the kayaking and train riding.

Hope when it was over you didn't have many lemons.

Glad you enjoyed it and can rest now.
