A Wedding Is On Tap

One of my daughters and her fiance have set a wedding date for October of 2015! The two of them are excited and just beginning to make the plans needed to set everything in motion.

These two young people have been together for over nine years, so they're not rushing into anything. Both sides of the family were beginning to wonder if the two of them would ever make the union official, but here we are.

I do already know the wedding/reception will not be of the traditional sort as they've decided to make John Deere the theme of the wedding. It's a little odd, I know, but it fits them and should make for some down-to-earth festivities.

I'm glad I have a year to work on my weight and fitness before the big occasion. This will be a joyous occasion to look forward to.

I can't wait to see the pics of this John Deere wedding. Green and yellow with white might look pretty cool.

I think it's going to be an interesting event. The green and yellow them allow certainly sets it apart.

October is a very popular month for weddings! People always associate them with June, but many members of my family got married in October, including me!

I think October makes a lovely wedding month. The couple has chosen Sweetest Day next year for their date. What date is your October anniversary?

One of these days I will publish an article about the wedding of a friend. She met her husband on a ranch where she was living. He owned it and she and another woman were sharing a mobile home on the property as they worked in a horse ministry here. Their cake was really special, since everything reflected the ranch theme.

We were married on the 12th (Columbus Day), and my sister was married on the 21st--of the same year!

That's great, it's always nice to have something to look forward to, and a target to achieve!

A John Deere wedding...I take it they're still ploughing ahead with their plans then? Lol

That ought to make it pretty easy for everyone to remember anniversary dates. : )

Feisty56 wrote on August 20, 2014, 6:07 PM

I look forward to that post. : )

Yes, yes and yes! Thinking about losing weight, though, is definitely easier than doing it.

Could you hear me groaning when I read your response? lol

There is sort of a rivalry of brands in my future son-in-law's family. His grandfather is loyal to International, while his son and grandson prefer John Deere. It should be a hoot!

AliCanary wrote on August 20, 2014, 8:04 PM

True, and we have two cousins who were married on those two dates, as well!

Feisty56 wrote on August 20, 2014, 8:34 PM

Now that's a little...different. : )

AliCanary wrote on August 20, 2014, 9:39 PM

HA HA HA! I mean one of our cousins married his wife on the 12th, and the other cousin married his wife on the 21st. LOL!

Feisty56 wrote on August 20, 2014, 9:45 PM

Lol, I knew that. : ) Or did I?

My brother is engaged, so we have a wedding in our future as well.

Feisty56 wrote on August 21, 2014, 9:34 AM

That should be something joyful to look forward to, although I think there is a lot of angst along the way in the planning and such.

I'm a bit surprised my future son-in-law didn't want to have the wedding at the John Deere headquarters in Illinois -- he has visited there often.

Congratulations! The John Deere theme for the reception is one of the most creative wedding-themed things I've ever heard! I've been to quite a few weddings, and so many of them seemed like they came out of a cookie-cutter. One of the best weddings I've ever been to was completely unique and oh-so-memorable because of the uniqueness.

Congrats to the happy couple. I can`t wait to see the picture of the cake. Sounds like an interesting theme to try to make a cake around. I think that the colours will look great.
