Where Does Everyone Go On Friday Nights?

Maybe I'm the only one here without a night life. It was as dead as a possum in the street after a car hit it here at Persona Paper last night. There were almost no new notifications of anything from those I follow, after eight Pacific time, and few were out there were commenting yet on the little that had been posted. It was very lonely. I probably should have given up and worked on my own blogs, but I was too tired for that kind of effort. I had already put my energy into my posts here.

I thought maybe I should go read a book until I was sleepy enough to go to bed. Or spend some time playing with my photos. I love playing with my photos, and I do need to spend more time on organizing them. With a bit of luck I'll discover another post hidden in one of them. Something short and sweet for that other site. It turns out that I was too tired for even that, so I went to bed at eleven, hoping there would be more action here by this morning. Sure enough, things are starting to pick up.

So where were all of you on Friday night? Do you have a usual Friday night routine that's different than your week night routine? Do you go out and do things with friends or family or just collapse in front of the tube? Or is every Friday night different for you?

I took the photo above on a business trip to Santa Paula and it was almost dark with that beautiful rising moon when we got back in the car to go home. You can right click to open a larger version of the image in a new tab.

Most of my Friday nights are like any other night of the week, which is pretty mundane. My brains seems to go into slow motion about 10 P.M. EST, so a post from me after that time would be rare. Hopefully as Persona Paper membership grows, this place will be booming all hours of the day and night.

I don't have a "usual" routine on any day of the week. LOL The only thing that mostly stays the same is that the hubby and I usually go to karaoke/pool on Thursday nights.

I hope it will start booming that way. Meanwhile, we need to recruit some more people from outside the USA who write good English. Where are the rest of the British, the folks from Down Under, etc.? No wonder that other site doesn't provide for us to speak privately.

I don't have one either except to write whenever I can squeeze it in between all the meetings, medical appointments, cooking, business trips, and housework.

I don't usually do anything on Friday nights. I spent a large part of last evening watching a movie. The activity level here has been slow the last few days I have checked in.

I was babysitting in order that my daughter and partner could have a night out...

What did I do last night? Oh, we had an emergency call from a neighbour who was just widowed a week ago and who came home from staying at her daughter's. We heard loud sobs from outside and found her sitting on her front doorstep, nose bleeding and sobbing. Spent the rest of the evening in her house, until she had calmed down and her children came to fetch her. She had insisted on coming home but it was too much for her. I think she went home with them last night, but not sure. There is definitely someone in next door at the moment but not sure who.

BarbRad I don't have a routine for Friday nights. It has been a long time since I went out on Friday and Saturday nights. I need to get back into that swing. I was here a bit last night and other sites also. But I got tired and bored quickly. So I put on TV and watched a movie.

For sure its been low for a couple of days. I think it will be worse as so many of us have to scurry around to prepare for the closing of Squidoo.

BarbRad wrote on August 16, 2014, 9:03 PM

That was generous of you. Or do you enjoy your babysitting as much as they do?

BarbRad wrote on August 16, 2014, 9:05 PM

I think you have a great excuse for not being here. I hope you don't have too many more nights like that. I'm sure that your neighbor is in a lot of emotional pain.

I was also very tired. In spite of all my good intentions, I gave up and went to bed. Had I known about the changes at Squidoo earlier in the day, I would have stayed wide awake and busy over there.

We were supposed to go somewhere on Friday nights? Apparently, I never got the memo. But then, I'm a pretty boring person.

We were supposed to cook and do housework? Apparently I didn't get that memo, either. Nobody tells me these things.

LOL! This is my exciting night life.

BarbRad wrote on August 20, 2014, 3:06 AM

I don't think you're boring at all. You've been listening to Guiness too much.
