The Water Challenge
Over dinner last night, my boyfriend and I chatted merrily. The Chao Fan (fried rice) topped with steamed Siomai and then flooded with banana ketchup was just overwhelmingly good (yes, we do eat this way..weird, huh) however didn't refrain us from chitchatting and having a good time.
Then he mentioned something about a blog he accidentally stumbled upon on the internet. It's actually a blog of someone who's curious enough to see what could strictly drinking 8 glasses of water a day could do to your body. He explained that each day, the blogger drinks at least 8 glasses of water or perhaps 1.5 liters or more a day without changing anything on his diet. Well, with the exception of overeating or binge eating .
On the first week, horrible things happened - acne all over the face broke out, there was this excessive and unbearable sweat that can be irritating and annoying (especially if you're not used to it and that you don't usually drink lots of fluids in a day) and many other tidbits that I wasn't able to clearly comprehend since I was too busy dipping my spoonful of steamed Kang Kong (watercrest Spinach - I hope it's the right term) on yummy fish paste or bagoong . I just heard him say 'detoxification process' as I took a mouthful (
The second week, acne began to disappear. The blogger's eyebags apparently became smaller and lighter. Signs of stresses have begun to fade away. At this point in time, my attention was shifted to my boyfriend's story and I almost forgot about my food.
The third week looked promising. He said the blogger's claim was that skin got lighter, more rejuvenated and glowing. Making this a daily habit could lead to a surprising and happy result.
As he finished, he told that he'd try it out some time. And I thought to myself, I have to try that, too!
And so...we are at this beginning of a great challenge - although I'm still on a hunt to finding (and buying) the perfect water jug for me to carry around even at work and face this challenge face on!
Every Sunday, I will be posting an update on my water challenge. Today happens to be Day 1, and I'm already on my way to emptying my third helping of a 350ml water bottle. Excited to see the results in a week! :)
