Facebook Fiasco

Facebook is the most popular social media site in the world. In reaches across cultures, continents and conditions. I am often tempted to join the Facebook frenzy, but each time I lean toward registering on the site, another red flag appears.

The most recent red flag that thwarted me is the class-action lawsuit against Facebook leveled by European Max Schrems. Mr. Schrems alleges that Facebooks member monitoring methods are a violation of the European Union laws along with other privacy violations.

Sad to hear it, but this trouble only solidifies my opinion and decision to not utilize Facebook. Facebook may have done a lot of good and given many a great deal of coverage, but at what cost? I may be alone in this, but I would rather come behind in social networking popularity, than to give up any more of my personal privacy.
