Burger, Anyone?

Burger, anyone?

I'd be surprised if someone actually declines. I mean, who can say no to two 1/3 pound beef patties grilled to perfection. I used lean meat for my patty. I used just the right amount of fat with my ground beef.

If course, you can't have just the burger patty. You got to have the right toppings and condiments for your burger. Just right having the right supporting acts for your superstar main performer. For this burger, I had caramelized onions, mushrooms, and freshly chopped red and green bell peppers. For my sauce, I chopped lots of garlic and mixed it with some mayonnaise for a simple garlic mayo sauce. I also had some chopped jalapeño pepper mixed with mustard and hot sauce for some spicy mustard kick. I toasted the bun a bit and spread these delightful sauces on each. The double patties take their rightful place and then topped by the onions, mushrooms, and bell pepper. Some french fries in the side and a cold glass of soda to wash down the first bite and a bottle or two of beer to accompany my burger creation for the rest of thus gastronomic adventure.

Let me ask again, , anyone?

Sorry - I'm going to have to break your rule! I loathe the taste and texture of meat of all descriptions and would happily decline any offer of a burger!

Wow, your gourmet burger sounds delicious! I like a good mushroom and swiss burger meself :)

Two 1/3 patties in one bun? That sounds like a slippery mess. I will have two.

tzwrites , go ahead and give in!

To each his own indexer . I gave in to my primal cravings for meat hence the burger and this post.

I passed on the swiss cheese Ali. There'll be too much going on in the burger if I added cheese.

I make a decent burger, myself. A little bit of Worcestershire sauce helps.

...oops...And, thank you for this submission to the contest. :)

Scorpie , four 1/3 beef burger patties sounds like fun... and an impending heart attack! LOL!

Sounds good, except for the mushrooms, which is one of the few foods I dislike. I used to eat a lot of burgers, but now I eat them rarely, choosing them only when I have a craving or know that they will be good burgers. That makes them a lot more special of course.

True but no sense hurrying up to the after life. LOL!

Bad experience with mushrooms? I seldom have burgers myself so when the craving hit, I gave in!

Ruby3881 wrote on August 7, 2014, 11:29 PM

Yup, I love mushrooms with beef of any description, and I like a little Swiss or mozzarella on a burger. A&W makes a good mushroom mozza burger :)

I'll take just one of those patties, cooked medium to medium rare and topped with cheddar and BBQ pulled pork. Sounds wonderful!!

allen0187 wrote on August 11, 2014, 9:04 PM

Cheddar and BBQ pulled pork sounds like good additions to any burger!

allen0187 wrote on August 11, 2014, 9:05 PM

Ruby3881 , your comment made me miss A&W ! Their burgers and root beer floats were awesome!

You don't have one near you? That's a shame!

We hadn't really been to one in years until we moved to BC. In Quebec, the only ones I'd seen were these sort of abbreviated lunch counter versions you see in food courts. And the food just wasn't the same. But we have a standalone restaurant here, complete with the frosty mugs for the root beer, and now root beer milkshakes!

They're wonderful!! Can get it at a local diner where it's called "The Big Pig" as well as at a local BBQ and Blues place called Red, Hot and Blue. I'm so hungry just thinking about it!

allen0187 wrote on August 12, 2014, 9:57 PM

We had one before but it closed down. Such a shame.

A blues joint that serves burgers... sounds like my type of place!

Burgers, blues and booze. The three Bs.
