Editing progress

I spent three hours before bed last night pouring over my space opera and editing. It was by far the easiest time I've had working on it in quiet awhile. Today I have spent the last four hours editing, tugging my hair, and talking to myself. It is still moving forward. I am still making progress but it is a little more difficult.

It feels like walking through thick mud. The kind where it is just squishy at first but then begins to cake onto the bottom of your boots until each forward step is harder and harder to take. I've decided to give it a rest for awhile and come back later. Mostly because I need to think about a few things and figure out the order of a few more.

I found a spot where, if I go a different direction, I can make the story more interesting but it will take me more work to write and polish. I also have to go to my muggle workplace tonight and there are other things that need to be done before then. Sleep at some point would also make the night ahead go easier.
